Bora Bora | French Polynesia | Travel Photography
April 2018. Several months ago, I was chatting with the kids about Spring Break, where to go & what to do. Bora Bora, they said. What?! How do you know/hear about Bora Bora? I had never been, so why not?
After about 22 hrs of traveling (Oakland > Los Angeles > Papeete Tahiti > Bora Bora) , we arrived at paradise. We were greeted with views like this:
We stayed at the Intercontinental Le Moana during the first few days, and in an OWB (overwater bungalow) too!
Below, sunset of Matira Beach - Bora Bora's most popular public beach (located across the road from IC Le Moana) . Stunning!
As if it couldn't get any better, we moved from IC Le Moana to the Intercontinental Thalasso for the second half of our trip.
Naturally, most of the activities on the island is outdoor activities. We did a snorkeling tour and found a family of 40+ eagle rays.
Above, looking at Mt Otemanu across the lagoon from the Intercontinental Thalasso pool. Below, my daughter's first time at stand up paddle boarding...thanks to the calm waters of the lagoon, she did pretty good.
Time-lapse leaving paradise above. Tip: for awesome views of Bora Bora, sit on the left side of the plane into Bora Bora, and on the right side leaving Bora Bora.
After a week, Spring Break was over and time to return home. The Tahitians are most warm and welcoming. Undoubaable Bora Bora and the Tahitian Islands are as gorgeous and scenic...the shades of blue are incredible (no filters needed). Bora Bora is as advertised. Photos can't do justice. Maruru, RC
