State Bird Provisions | Contemporary American | San Francisco | Food Photography
Saturday dinner December 2015. OMGosh, sooooo good. State Bird Provisions is a restaurant that has been on my must eat list...I had read much about it: the 2 to 3 hour wait, the small plates, the creativity and the uniqueness of the restaurant.
Although I made reservations exactly two months out when reservations are released, I was fortunate...I'm positive there were many others also trying to make reservations. Food is served dim sum style, where servers come around with food on carts and trays, and also can also be ordered. The food tasted very delicate, very sophisticated; hard to describe. And the service was as good as the food.
Surprisingly, pricing wasn't as expensive as I expected.
CA state bird with provisions.
Since we ordered mostly small plates that were passed around, I don't remember exactly what each small plate was. A noodle dish and hummus dish.
Mushroom Soup. Pancakes. Grilled shiitake mushrooms.
Pumpkin mochi and garlic bread, I think.
Hog Island oysters, sweet.
Half orders of chocolate ice cream sandwich and olive oil cake.
State Bird Provisions is certainly worthy of a Michelin star restaurant! Happy to cross the restaurant off my list.
